Information we collect
Public catalog pages can be read without creating an account. When you use interactive search or watch builder tools, the site may process the search criteria or design selections needed to return results.
Server infrastructure may receive standard technical information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps, and error logs. Admin areas use authentication cookies for authorized editorial users.
How information is used
Technical information is used to operate the site, protect private admin areas, debug errors, monitor reliability, and prevent abuse. Search and builder inputs are used to return matching catalog results.
ChronoMosaic does not currently publish public account profiles, user-generated reviews, user-uploaded watch listings, public contact form submissions, or newsletter subscriber profiles.
Cookies, analytics, and third parties
Signing in relies on session cookies provided by the authentication service. Public pages do not require login cookies to read the catalog.
ChronoMosaic counts visits with its own analytics. Each page tells our server which page it is, and on the first page of a visit it also passes along the address of the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign). No analytics script is loaded from a third party, and no cookie or browser storage is used for analytics.
For each page view we store the page, the domain of the site that sent you (never the full address), the country our hosting provider infers from your connection, the kind of device (phone, tablet, or computer), whether the view came from a person or from a crawler or script — judged from how your browser describes itself and from our hosting provider's own list of known crawlers — and a visitor code. The visitor code is a hash of your IP address and browser user agent combined with a random value that changes every day and is deleted the day after, so visits can be counted within a day but cannot be linked across days or traced back to you. Your IP address is not stored with page views.
If you are signed in, a page view also carries a code derived from your account ID with a secret key, so we can measure whether accounts come back from week to week. It contains no name or email address.
Page views are processed and stored by Cloudflare, which hosts the site, and are kept for three months. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, no page view is recorded.
ChronoMosaic does not use advertising or affiliate tracking. This page will be updated before either is added.
The newsletter
If you sign up for the letter, the only thing we ask for is your email address. It is sent to Zoho Campaigns, the service that holds our mailing list and sends the letters. Zoho emails you a link to confirm, and your address joins the list only if you follow it.
We use the list only to send the letter, never more than once a month. Every letter carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops future letters at once. We do not sell, rent, or share the list. To have your address removed entirely, write to info@chronomosaic.com.
An address that is never confirmed is never sent a letter. The site itself does not store the address you enter.
